Poor George. He's never seen any movies. Rather than mourn their dear friend, Travis and Dan have taken it upon themselves to show him what he is missing. But they don't stop at showing him famous movies! They also help George to understand how each film fits into the Great Narrative of Film. Not only THAT the film of the week is significant, but WHY and HOW. Also, they make jokes and stuff.

Halloween Ends (2022)
Monday Oct 17, 2022
Monday Oct 17, 2022
Death has come back to your town, Sheriff... and The Internet's Most Divisive Movie of 2022 has come to the Remedial Film Class Podcast. Either the best and most original Halloween film in decades or the worst movie in the history of moving pictures, this one isn't without strong reactions. And you are getting fresh reactions from all three of the guys.
Halloween 2018 was universally praised by the panel, but Halloween Kills was not well received by Travis or George. Will Halloween Ends bring George over to the dark side with Dan? And will Travis enjoy Ends more than Kills due to a distinct lack of Gaston action? (Drink!) Tune in to find out!

Halloween Kills (2021)
Wednesday Oct 12, 2022
Wednesday Oct 12, 2022
For a literal calendar year, Travis and Dan have had to "save it for the pod." They had very different reactions when Halloween Kills was released last year and couldn't debate (argue? fight?) the merits of their perspectives until George was ready to hear it. Well, "Bad Takes Die Tonight" as Dan and Travis finally get to defend their positions. Will George pick a side? To give himself the best chance, George watched this movie twice in preparation. That's dedication!
Then, George gets to chime in on his rankings of all of the Halloween movies he has seen. And finally, the guys discuss where they hope Halloween Ends will (and won't!) go when it is released on Friday, October 14, 2022.
Will Travis manage to hold the goalposts in place long enough to make a cogent argument? Will George catch the root of the infamous "Evil Dies Tonight" phrase during his second viewing? Will Dan manage to "Dark Knight" himself into a subtext the guys didn't see coming? The Podcast Tries Tonight!

Halloween (2018)
Wednesday Oct 05, 2022
Wednesday Oct 05, 2022
George is ready to throw out all the nonsense of the Halloween sequels and jump right out of the end of Halloween 1978 and into the most recent Halloween 2. (and the third movie called Halloween.)
Will George manage to overlook (or even appreciate) the trigger discipline? Will Travis find himself more prepared to look at Halloween Kills next week with a fresh perspective? Will Dan ever get to know what "Everything." entails regarding Dr. Sartain and the files on Laurie and Michael? And will anyone believe us that Travis's Loomis impression was done without prep and not edited in any way? Stick around for that alone!

Halloween (2007) (The Rob Zombie remake)
Tuesday Sep 27, 2022
Tuesday Sep 27, 2022
The Fall Break is about to get brutal... We mean it is going to be brutal to George because he has to watch Rob Zombie's Halloween... But you know what? He actually liked it. We aren't kidding.
But just because George caught the guys off-guard by liking a movie he was sure to hate, that doesn't mean we let him get away with that. This is The Internet, after all, and everyone on the internet loves to bash on this movie. But... what if Dan liked it too? At least, more than he remembered...
Will George remain on team Zombie once he finds out who played Annie? Will Travis manage to go an entire episode without comparing a movie to King Kong? Can Dan finally make his pitch to save this movie (call us, Rob Zombie) and the franchise post-Blumhouse? (call us John Carpenter!) Find out today!

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (Unrated Producer’s Cut) (1996)
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
The Fall Break continues (and the Jamie/Thorn trilogy concludes) as we spare George the Weinstein-tainted "theatrical cut" of this movie and go straight to the restored "producer's cut" created by Moustapha Akkad. And Paul Rudd is here!
And restored it is! We watched the Blu-Ray master and it is soon to get a 4k release. And for Dan and Travis that met this movie as a VHS bootleg in the late 90s... the video quality alone is a remarkable achievement.
Can George find something besides electricity to love in this much-maligned dumpster fire of a movie? Will Travis convince the guys that there is more incest afoot than originally scripted? Did Dan find the missing link between Halloween 6 and Eyes Wide Shut? You know there's only one way to find out... Tune in!

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (With Mini_Megz) (1989)
Wednesday Sep 14, 2022
Wednesday Sep 14, 2022
Mini_Megz joined us to share the joy and honor of watching the most boring sequel in the Halloween Franchise. Luckily the cheesy music and ridiculous plot kept everyone entertained and our guest can share her Twitch-streaming insights and Nicolas Cage jokes with the guys.
Will George appreciate how close he came to guessing the plot of this one last week? Will Meg ever forgive us for that Human Centipede joke? Did Dan stack the deck by raising Meg's expectations for Halloween movies? Did Travis finally call out his review-bombing Troll critic? You know you want to tune in to find out...

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)
Wednesday Sep 07, 2022
Wednesday Sep 07, 2022
The Fall Break is here again! We begin with the "Jamie Trilogy" and George's introduction to series staple Danielle Harris. And a bunch of 35 year old "high school kids." And a Jason-influenced Michael. Gone are the Silver Shamrocks and London Bridge adaptations. Michael is back and he's brought new tricks. But will George see anything he likes?
Can Travis translate "the late 1980's" into something George can understand? Will George appreciate the nuance of an invulnerable killing machine menacing a defenseless child for like one-third of the movie? Did Dan stand up and applaud the ending again this time? Tune in the find out!

Police Academy (1984)
Wednesday Aug 31, 2022
Wednesday Aug 31, 2022
George loved Beverly Hills Cop, but how will he feel watching the classic comedy Police Academy. Both films came out in the same year, and in the wake of 48 Hrs., but Police Academy takes a much more "Airplane" or "Porky's" approach to comedy.
Plus, stick around for a preview of the forthcoming "Fall Break" series from the Remedial Film Class Podcast!

Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
Wednesday Aug 24, 2022
Wednesday Aug 24, 2022
It has been slightly more than 48 hours since George watched 48 Hrs. but now he is on the case in Beverly Hills where the DVD menu spoiled Eddie Murphy's presence in what George was convinced was a Chris Farley movie. I guess you can't win them all.
Everything is coming together in Beverly Hills: Robocop, 48 Hrs., Bad Boys, Friday the 13th Parts 2-8, and even Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
But will George welcome this charming classic for what it is or will he see it as a rehash of all the things he's already seen? Will Travis survive hearing Dan's opinion on the movie? Will Dan ever convince the folks at Vinegar Syndrome to release Funland? Will Meet the Feebles ever get the release it deserves? Tune in to find out!

48 Hrs. (1982)
Wednesday Aug 17, 2022
Wednesday Aug 17, 2022
George has never heard of 48 Hrs. Dan has never seen 48 Hrs, but he does insist on pronouncing it "48 Hurz" and that gets old real quick. But what the guys find is that Travis has suggested a proto-buddy-cop film that doesn't know whether it should be deadly serious or funny. And that mess of a motivation makes for a real interesting watch.
Can Travis make it through the entire episode without falling into the clutches of Nostalgia? Will George see past the flaws of the movie and see it for what it could be? Did Dan really manage to segue to a 90s Skinemax movie and a Friday the 13th movie in the same breath? Tune in and find out!

Hot Fuzz (2007)
Wednesday Aug 10, 2022
Wednesday Aug 10, 2022
George has seen Hot Fuzz. And he loves Shaun of the Dead. But it turns out he doesn't remember much of Hot Fuzz except that he liked it 15 years ago. And Travis... well Travis sure thought he had seen it before...
Will Dan's insistence on watching Bad Boys 2 paint Hot Fuzz in a new light? Will George find that he still loves this gem? Will Travis enjoy it at all? And did anyone catch that it is like 1/3 Giallo?

Bad Boys 2 (2003)
Wednesday Aug 03, 2022
Wednesday Aug 03, 2022
George hasn't seen Bad Boys. But he's seen True Lies and Dan contends that that's close enough. Travis prefers the first Bad Boys but Dan prefers the sequel. So science commences.
Will George get the Bro movie he was predicting when told he was watching a movie called "Bad Boys 2" last week? Did Travis manage to give Bad Boys 2 a look without the shadow of the original? Will Dan convince both of the guys that this movie is worth sparing from the box that Will keeps threatening to throw into the ocean!?
Dan showed the guys this clip from Dario Argento's 1987 giallo Opera:

True Lies (1994)
Wednesday Jul 27, 2022
Wednesday Jul 27, 2022
George has had a Total Recall experience but is he ready for Arnold cum James Bond? The unstreamable True Lies brings James Cameron to us via DVD. DVD! Like it is the PlayStation 2 era all over again. We hoped to watch this during Jamie Lee Christmas but were thwarted by supply chain issues. But Travis got it all figured out and it is time to hop in the Harrier's driver seat and take off poorly!
Will George find himself a fan of low-key Arnold acting or be left missing the over-the-top one-liners? Will Travis's argument convince Dan and George to drop everything and rewatch all of the MCU movies? Can Dan's Arnold impression dethrone Travis's? And can the guys get to the bottom of why this movie isn't widely available to stream!?
