Poor George. He's never seen any movies. Rather than mourn their dear friend, Travis and Dan have taken it upon themselves to show him what he is missing. But they don't stop at showing him famous movies! They also help George to understand how each film fits into the Great Narrative of Film. Not only THAT the film of the week is significant, but WHY and HOW. Also, they make jokes and stuff.

Home Alone Part 2 - I Believe in Santa Claus / Here Comes Santa Claus (1984)

The rumors abound as to how John Hughes and company might have been inspired by Deadly Games. We covered this topic in depth on Wednesday but Dan left everyone with a cliff hanger: Another movie might have been just as influential to the writers of Home Alone and no one talking about it.
Welcome to the cutting edge, folks. Please note that this is a Part 2 to the original episode on Home Alone and Deadly Games. We recommend you listen to that one first, but if you like living on the edge... have at it!
I Believe in Santa Claus is on Amazon Prime at the moment for purchase. It is worth every cent. It is... insane. We cover (and spoil the heck out of) the movie here but hearing about it will not do it justice. Consider this our sales pitch on the craziest Christmas movie you'll see this year.
We've got cannibal ogres with a whipped cream fetish, a smokeshow teacher who is also a fairy princess who dresses like Little Red Riding Hood, and Santa Claus on a counter-insurgency mission in Africa. And the rebels he's fighting aren't the bad guys.
And THEN AN ALLIGATOR SHOWS UP. Oh and a bunch of Home Alone content that was missing in Deadly Games pops up here verbatim. This is the Christmas Present you deserve and Dan is happy to give it!
